MEET THE TEAM

Meet our enthusiastic team of academics and administrators who bring the Oxford Experience to you.

Our Academic Coordinators are leading researchers and academics in their field. They define the overall academic direction and standard of the Programme. Besides monitoring the quality of tutorials, academic coordinators plan keynote lectures, workshops, academic counselling sessions, and evaluate student progress and feedback.

Tabitha Spence

MA Geography and Development

Tabitha Spence

Tabitha holds an M.A. in Geography and Development and a Graduate Certificate in Water Management and Policy from the University of Arizona. She is currently based in Cambridge, and is doing doctoral work in Development Studies with a focus on international climate politics. She is is experienced in teaching undergraduate students, as well as in managing student welfare.

Nazish Gulzar

MSc Management and Information Systems

Nazish Gulzar

Nazish studied Social Entrepreneurship at Oxford and holds a Masters degree in Management and Information Systems from the University of Manchester. She has extensive experience of working in the technology sector. She has also supervised students at various Summer School programs for many years.

Ayyaz Mallick

MSc Bio-chemistry

Ayyaz Mallick

Ayyaz holds a M.Biochem. degree from the University of Oxford and is currently reading for a PhD degree in Environmental Studies. He is an experienced tutor and has supervised students in Oxford for a number of years.


Tom Hendriks

BSc (Hons.) History

Tom Hendriks

Tom read History at the University of Oxford. After working in technology, he joined us as an IT tutor, bringing industry and academic knowledge to this and other subjects. As Senior Adviser to the Oxford University Rifle Club, he remains close to the University, offering coaching, mentoring, and advice, as well as covering safety, welfare, and residential programmes; he brings these skills to his role as Dean.

Maria Rioumine

BSc. (Hons.) Philosophy, Politics and Economics

Maria Rioumine

Maria is a final year Philosophy, Politics and Economics student at Christ Church, Oxford University. She was elected President of the Oxford Union, the world renowned debating society that includes Benazir Bhutto and William Gladstone amongst its former Presidents, for Hilary Term 2012-13 and oversaw the organisation of all university-wide debates, socials and speaker events. Maria shall convene the sessions on Oxford style debating and introduce the students to century and a half old tradition of free speech, eloquence and leadership at the Oxford Union.

Dr. Adnan Rafiq

Adnan holds a PhD degree in Politics from University of Oxford along with an MPhil degree in Innovation, Strategy and Organisation from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is a published author and has over 5 years experience of academic research and teaching.

Dr. Anna Svennson

PhD History of Science

Director

Dr. Anna Svennson

Anna holds a PhD in History of Science, Technology and Environment from University of Oxford. She has also completed a BA in English literature and her current research areas engage with the challenges and possibilities of interdisciplinary research, the history of botany, and early modern collecting cultures.

Dr. Megan Robb

PhD Oriental Studies

Dr. Megan Robb

Megan holds a Ph.D degree in Oriental Studies from the University of Oxford. She has also completed an MPhil degree in Modern South Asian Studies and a Bachelors degree from University of Indiana, USA. Megan remained the General Secretary of the Oxford University Model United Nations and has excellent public speaking skills.

Harry Lee

Harry Lee

Harry has recently graduated from Oriel College, University of Oxford in Molecular and Cellular Biology and was a visiting scholar at Princeton University, USA for the academic year 2013-14. Harry is originally from Korea and has been helping overseas applicants with their Oxbridge applications since his first year at Oxford.

Dr. Andrew Turesky

Andrew heads the student affairs and welfare at The Oxford Institute. He has over 25 years experience in student counselling and career guidance. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Columbia (USA) and the University of Oxford.

Anisa A. Dar

Anisa A. Dar

Anisa A. Dar has been working in the education development sector and has managed projects funded by USAID, UKAid and UNICEF for children’s education, youth skills development and career counselling. She is a core member of the Asia team and works as Country Coordinator.

Samuel brings extensive experience in account management and administration in research. He leads the administration team, and is in charge of the smooth running of the Programme.

Yujiao holds an Msc degree in Management and Information System from the University of Manchester and now works as a management consultant for Global Fortune 500 clients. He has spent over 10 years in teaching, training, and talent performance both domestically in China and internationally in India, Germany and England.

Marina Zhang (China)

Marina Zhang holds a Master degree in Information Systems and Management from the University of Warwick and has rich experience of education for last ten years. She lives in China and South Africa and establishes global students communicate network.

Esther Wanjau (Africa)

MSc in Management Information Systems

Esther Wanjau (Africa)

Esther holds a Masters Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Manchester. She has experience of working for many years in the Education sector at the Government of Kenya and has mentored a number of students during her career.

Masoud Shaghaghi (Iran)

PhD Linguistics

Masoud Shaghaghi (Iran)

Masoud is the operational manager of Goldis Language Institute, the biggest language learning centre in north west of Iran. He started his PhD in linguistics in Lancaster University and shifted to applied linguistics at Erfurt university in Germany. He has the experience of teaching English in summer school in Oxford.

Ahmet Ataner (Cyprus)

Ahmet Ataner (Cyprus)

Ahmet holds an MBA degree and has worked as the Senior Lecturer, Director of International Office, and as the General Secretary of the European University of Lefke. In addition he worked as the General Manager and CEO of the Development Bank. He also worked as National Director and CEO at the SOS Children Village, Kinderdorf International. He represented his institutions in many countries around the world. Currently, he has a consultancy business called, Ataner Danismanlik (International Education, Career, Business & Investment Consultancy). Now, he is mainly recruiting students for the prestigious universities in the UK, and Oxford Institute
