What is the Tutorial Teaching Method?

In the Oxford University’s unique and famous tutorial method of teaching where students are given one-to-one tuition and supervision during tutorials comprising small group of students generally not exceeding four. The tutorials supplement the lectures and allow students to discuss and debate the points raised during the lecture. Such interactions are extremely useful in clearing the students’ concepts and allowing them to discuss various topics with leading experts in their fields.

How does it Benefit the Student?

Our Summer Programme includes tutorial sessions for small group of students (usually 3 or 4) to provide individual attention and allow the students to interact with a world class expert in their subject of interest. These tutors also supervise student's research projects and guide them in their final essays. The indivudual attention through the tutorial method helps increase the depth of understanding in the subject of the student and enables a research centric approach in framing their analysis. You can view profiles of some of our tutors here.
